Mrs Margaret Rion Martin, daughter of the late Thomas Basille Rion and Frances Malinda Brewen Rion, was born on February 27, 1876 in St Francois County, (Missouri), and passed away on December 8, 1969, at Farmington (Missouri), being aged 93 years, nine months and 11 days.
On November 16, 1903 she was united in marriage to John Sylvester Martin who preceded her in death on February 26, 1949. To this union seven children were born, five of whom survive. They are: Iva (Mrs. Mark) Thompson of Knob Lick; Susie (Mrs M.C.)Mill, Sikeston; Evelyn (Mrs Lester) Plummer, Knob Lick; Mary (Mrs S.A.)Hand, Fredericktown; Opal (Mrs Don) Harris, Sikeston; also 12 grand children; 31 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren.
Mrs Martin was preceded in death by two sons, John Sylvester Martin Jr, who passed away in 1968 and Bert H. Martin in 1946. Also one sister, Mrs Susan Turpin and four brothers, John D. Rion, Oscar, Thomas and Jerry Rion.
Mrs Martin professed faith in Christ in her early childhood. She was a member of Knob Lick Church of God at the time of her death.
Chapel services were held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Cozean Funeral, with the Rev. Harold Mobley officiating. Internment was in Knob Lick Cemetery with Cozean's Service.
