Matthews - John A. (tombstone says S.) Martin, a Matthews farmer, died Saturday in a Cape Girardeau Hospital, he was 61 years old.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at the Jackson Funeral Home in Sikeston. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Masonic rites will be tonight in the funeral home.
Mr. Martin was born Dec. 14, 1906, in Knob Lick. He was married to Miss Alma Lee Brown of Matthews on Dec. 21, 1937. She survives.
He was a Baptist and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 603, AF and AM, at Morehouse.
Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Maggie Martin; a daughter, Mrs. Janice Payne; five sisters, Mrs. Iva Plummer, Mrs. Mary Hand, Mrs. Evelyn Thompson, Mrs. Sue Tetley and Mrs. Opal Harris and two grandchildren.
