UPDATE:
Mrs. Ellen Parks, a highly esteemed resident of Saxton, passed away suddenly at her home at 1:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, November 7, 1948.
She was born in Hummel, Huntingdon County, on April 30, 1875, a daughter of William Stunkard Ward and Elizabeth (Leonard) Ward. On April 30, 1903, at Huntingdon, she was married to Clifton T. Parks, who survives to mourn her passing.
These children also survive: Alma, Saxton; Forrest, Martinsburg; Edna, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, and Dorothy, Lancaster and one grandson, J.S. Ward of Cincinnati, Ohio, is also surviving.
Mrs. Parks was a member of the Trinity Reformed Church at Saxton and was active in church organizations as long as her health permitted. She was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society of that church.
She was a fine neighbor and had many friends who mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock on Wednesday at the Robert E. Huff funeral chapel, Saxton. The Rev. A. C. Thompson, D.D., will officiate and interment will be made in Fockler Cemetery at Saxton. Friends may call at the funeral home.
