IN LOVING MEMORY

On Friday night, Feb. 6, 1931, the death angels hovered over the home of Ben Thompson, and took away our loving brother William Roy Currington.

He was sick only a few days.

He was 26 years, 3 months, and 10 days old when the Lord called him home our of his suffering.

He leaves to mourn his death a father, four sisters, two brothers, and his uncle and aunt, Ben and Dorintha Thompson.

He was laid to rest in the Dresden cemetery, Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock.

Yes, our dear brother is gone,
The voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled.
But God in his wisdom
Looking down from above,
Said I have room for you,
In my garden of love.
So come up higher
And dwell in heaven with me.
You shall share my glory,
Throughout all Eternity.
You shall share my glory
‘Tis so hard to give him up,
His form no more to see
Yet our one consolation,
We’ll meet in Eternity.
Yes dear brother though we grieve
We know you’re happy there,
And some day we, too,
Shall reach that home so fair,
Some day we’ll meet you
And clasp glad welcoming hands,
On the happy golden strand.
Through dark the way,
Still sing and praise,
Some time, some day we’ll understand.

Written by his sisters,
Essie and Zelma Currington
