Herman Benjamin Currington
2 Jan 1882 - 14 Jan 1956
H. B. Currington Services Sunday
H. B. Currington, 74, died at his home in Purdon Saturday morning following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Griffin Chapel with burial in the Younger cemetery near Purdon.
The rites were conducted by Rev. Chester Reames of Purdon, assisted by Rev. B. W. Johnson of Corsicana.
Surviving are his wife of Purdon; three sons, Clarence Currington, Levelland; Lawrence Currington, and H. B. Currington, Jr., Fort Ord, Calif.; eight daughters, Mrs. Verna Oden, Corsicana; Miss Essie Currington and Mrs. Zelma Marlow, both of Blooming Grove; Mrs. Alpha Ivie and Mrs. Barbara Jayroe, both of Dallas; Miss Buna Fay Currington and Miss Linda Jean Currington, both of Purdon; two brothers, Jones Currington, Malvern, Ark., and Bead Currington, Waco; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbears were Arlanda Currington, Coy Dene Currington, Lannie Oden, Clifton Jayroe, Curtis Henthorn and O. E. L. Miles.
