Funeral for Joseph W. Cooke, 98, Brightwood, will be Wednesday at the Pegg and Paxton Mortuary, Beaverton. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Cooke was born January 2, 1866 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He moved with his parents when they homesteaded near Sioux City, Iowa, in the Dakotas and near Walla Walla, Wash. Mr. Cooke lived in the Sylvan area for 67 years. He was a blacksmith and later a farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Royal W., Portland and Ernest M., Brightwood; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Oregonian 5-26-1964
