Joseph Vanderpool was buried today. Services held at Mill Grove for aged citizen who died in Oklahoma. The remains of the late Uncle Joe Vanderpool, 98 year old long life resident of Grundy and Mercer Counties who died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Edna May at Clinton, Oklahoma, were taken today on Rock Island train #30. Funeral services were held this afternoon conducted by Rev. J. E. Todd Pastor of the Christian Church of that city. Burial was in the Mill Grove Cemetery beside his wife who died several years ago. Mr. Vanderpool is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. W. M. Ward, Trenton and Mrs. Edna May, Clinton, Okla., three sons, Charles V., Miles City, Mont., Henry V., San Francisco, Calif., and E. J. of Calif. He leaves 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Civil War and a member of the Christian Church. Joseph Vanderpool was born in Campbell County, Tenn., in 1831.
