OBITUARY NOTICE: Watseka Republican; Watseka, Illinois. Article dated October 12, 1887. Excerpt " Died on Saturday, Oct. 8th, after an illness of sixteen weeks. Elfa, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moore, aged 14 years and 9 months. The funeral took place at the church on Sabbath morning. Rev. Stanley officiating. A large congregation of sympathizing friends were present to pay the last tribute of respect to one who was loved by all and who will be sadly missed not only in her own home but in her school and in the Sabbath School, of which she had for years been a faithful member. Elfa died as she had lived, a consistent Christian, and we feel assured that for her all pain has passed away."
