At the age of seven his parents moved to Odebolt, Iowa and later to Maurice, Iowa.
On March 1, 1893 he was married to Anna Peuse. Mr. and Mrs. Baker came to Wolsey, South Dakota in the spring of 1912; in 1919 to Ree heights. Besides his wife, Mr. Baker leaves to mourn his death: the five children: Earl and Lloyd of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. F.W. Anderson of Wolsey, South Dakota; Percy and Florence of Ree Heights; one brother, F. P. Baker of Worthington, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. H. Vandebrake, Orange City, Iowa, Mrs. H. C. Harper, Mitchell, South Dakota; Mrs. Armond Kelleranm, Hawarden, Iowa. Also eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Ree Heights Congregational church Friday afternoon, May 12. Interment at Morningside Cemetery.
