WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Naomi C. Devenny will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Mrs. Devenny, wife of the late Samuel W. Hines and Loe Ralph Devenny, died September 20, 2010. Born March 14, 1916, in Lodge, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth McMillan Caldwell. She had retired as an R.N. from the Dorn Veteran Hospital and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Millie Davis Sunday School Class and the choir. She enjoyed gardening, birds, painting and traveling.
Surviving are her daughters, Anne Palyok (Ron) of Columbia, Bonnie Renard of Lexington; stepdaughters, Sarah Grice (Farrell) of Swansea, Joy Wallace (Dan) of Lexington; grandchildren, Michael, Emily, George, Sheri, Shaun, Travis, Robert, Kristopher, Kyle, Danielle, Eve; a number of great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 500 S. Kilbourne Road, Columbia, SC 29205.
