Nancy Narcissus Hudson, daughter of Thomas T. Hudson and the former Eliza Garner, was born in Pine Bluff, Mississippi on the 27th of July 1849. Growing up, Nancy was known as Nannie by her parents and eight brothers & sisters; this nickname stayed with her the rest of her life.

In 1870, Nannie married Thomas Rasor McCormick, son of William McCormick and the former Eliza Risher Matchette of Jasper County, Mississippi. They would make their home in Meridian and have seven children:
Mary Eliza (1869-1871)
Bertha Haywood (1872-1956)
Annie Laurie (1874-1950)
Thomas Hudson (1878-1879)
Sadie Mae (1880-1919)
William Edward (1882-1919)
Frank Burgess (1885-1949)
Nettie Julia (1887-1889)
Grace Bell (1889-1985)

Nannie McCormick would have a full and blessed life living to the age of 92. She died on March 3, 1942 surrounded by family and friends. She was laid to rest beside her dear beloved husband, Thomas.
