Funeral services were held Wednesday at New Hope Baptist church for Ezekiel Ray Reid, 73, resident of Monticello who died here at his home. Rev. D.O. Horne, pastor of the Monticello Baptist church conducted the services. Burial was made in the New Hope church cemetery.
Mr. Reid moved to Monticello two years ago from Topeka. He was employed here at the Monticello Veneer Mill. He was a member of the Topeka Baptist church.
In 1892 he was married to Miss Nancy Letchworth who died some years ago. Three children survive from this union; Mrs. Johnnie Marbury, Summit; Jesse Reid, Jayess and James H. Reid, also of Jayess.
His second marriage was to Mrs. Emma Caves Lambert, who survives with the one son born to this union, E.R. Reid, Jr.
Among other surviving relatives are eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
