Funeral services in memory of Alice Vetter were held at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City Monday morning, September 2. Rev . Alan Brutlag officiated.
Burial was at the Harrison Township Cemetery, Ma y City, Iowa.
Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
The casket bearers were Gale Vetter. Rick Baish, Ernest Skow, Gary Vetter, Wall y Tschopp and Archie Berends.
Alice Grace Vetter, the daughter of Fred and Jessie Krueger Berends, was born September 13, 1898 at Holland, Iowa in Grundy County. She came to the May City area at age 2 and moved to Ocheyedan at age 12. She worked in Ocheyedan at the telephone company and as a clerk until her marriage.
She was united in marriage to William Vetter on June 27, 1923 at May City. They farmed near May City until 1960. She moved to Business Corner after her husband's death.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at May City and the Osceola and Dickinson Counties Historical Society. She loved God's handiwork in nature and enjoyed her home and family.
She was honored at the Osceola County Fair in 1970 with "This Is Your Life Alice Vetter" .
For the last two years she had been a resident of W e Care Haven in Hartley.
She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on August 29. 1985 at the age of S6.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1960. her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are one son and his wife, Martin and Ruth Vetter of Hartley: one daughter and her husband, Betty Lou and Earl Baish of Lake Park: five grandchildren, five great grand children, other relatives and many friends.
