Ira was the son of Leland and Anna (Dameron) Harris. He and Marle Melton were married on Aug. 4, 1956 in Reno, Nev. He was the Latimer County Commissioner of District 3. He is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters, Lynn Noggle of Red Oak and Carissa Wolfe of Summerfield; three sons, Ira M. Jr., Bryan K. Sr. and Bret Harris, all of Red Oak; three sisters, Betty Krusemann of Castro Valley, CA, Emma Marler of Wister, OK and Willa Divine of Burkburnett, TX; three brothers, George and Ted Harris, both of Fanshaw, OK and Johnny Harris of Donithan, MO; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 7, 1992 at Red Oak School Auditorium. Interment was at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak.
