A Mass of Christian Burial for Edna Carbo Rabalais will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. Craig Scott, Rev. Bruce Miller, and Rev. Rickey Gremillion officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Edna Carbo Rabalais, 89, of Alexandria, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 in her residence.

Mrs. Rabalais is preceded in death by her husband, George J. Rabalais, Jr.; parents, Albert Carbo and Edna Laborde Carbo; and siblings, Albert G. Carbo, Norma M. Ahnert, and June F. Greene.

Edna was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, was a Sacrastin for over 30 years, and a volunteer in the church office. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a volunteer for the Genealogy Library and the Shepherd Center. Edna served as a leader for the Girl Scouts and the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by one daughter, Judy Stokes and husband Leslie of Pineville; one son, Gary W. Rabalais of Dry Prong; one granddaughter, Courtney England of Dry Prong; and her niece and caregiver, Beverly Carbo of Alexandria.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at John Kramer & Son. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Rita Catholic Church Building Fund.
