Mrs. Nellie Christine Young age 92 of Florence Street, passed away 12:18 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
Services will be 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Young was born December 25, 1917 in Trigg County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Dillard and Metoka Cunningham Leneave. She was retired from Western State Hospital where she had been a nurse for over 25 years.
Nellie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bernard "JB" Young in 2003; a daughter, Nellie Lois "Dimple" Hamm; two brothers, Marshall Leneave and Jack Leneave; three sisters, Lalla Boyd, Katherine Brockman and Ruby Leneave.
Survivors include her nephew, William D. Boyd; niece, Wilma Billington; Gr niece, Penny Mitchell; three grandchildren, Paul and Jason Barnes, Kathryn Gordon; and five gr grandchildren, Valerie and Breeanna Barnes, Marianna Baker, Michach Gordon and Justin Barnes.
