He attended North Paris, ME and West Paris, ME schools.
He had worked as a painter and paper hanger. He also worked at the South Portland shipyard during WWII, and had been a machinist in woodworking factories in Bryant Pond, ME, Stratton and South Paris, ME. In later years he had been a caretaker at summer camps and at the Norway Country Club.
He is survived by five daughters Mrs Rebecca Stevens and Mrs Elizabeth McAlister both of West Paris, ME; Mrs Mary Jane Ames of Gorham, NH; Mrs Phyllis Morrison and Mrs Edna Proctor both of Norway, ME; three sons Harlan and James both of North Paris, ME: Howard of West Paris, ME; one sister Mrs Truth Gibbs of North Paris, ME; one brother Gordon of Voluntown, CT.
He is predeceased by his wife Florence who died Oct 13, 1973.
