John and Mary Jane moved to Gorham, NH in 1970, where they raised their two daughters. Mary Jane was a devoted wife and mother who also volunteered tirelessly for her church and community, including the Chamber of Commerce, Gorham Historical Society, and Disabled American Veterans. Her life showed her deep love for God and others, and her fervent prayers were a blessing to everyone she knew.
She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, John Ames; brothers Harlan, Jim, and Howard Abbott; sisters Rebecca Stevens and Phyllis Morrison; and beloved sister-in-law Jane Littlehale. She is survived by sisters Edna Proctor and Betty Jones; daughter Alice (Jack) Corbett and grandchildren Danielle, Evan and Regan Corbett of Sandown, NH; daughter Lois (Chris) Tignor and grandchildren Elisabeth, James, Grace, Christina, and Daniel Tignor of Portoviejo, Ecuador; and nieces and nephews.
