RUSHVILLE — Isabel Gardner, 98, of Ft. Wayne, passed away at Englewood Health and Rehab in Ft. Wayne July 29, 2012.
She was born in Rush County, In, on July 12, 1914. She is the daughter of Don and Marguerite (Stuart) Addison who both preceded her in death. Isabel married Marshall Herndon Gardner on August 31, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2005.
She was survived by 1 daughter Marabel (husband Steve) Lowring of Ft. Wayne, In; 1 son-in-law Melvin Manning of New Castle, In; 1 brother Lynn (wife Betty) Addison of Arlington, In; 7 grandchildren Scott Lowring and Monica Myers of Ft Wayne and Melvin Manning Jr Virginia Ottinger, Valerie Manning, Karen Wells, Connie Tompkins, all of Knightstown, and numerous , great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters Marilyn Manning and Marsha Gardner; 2 brothers Jessie Addison and Howard (wife JoAnn) Addison; and 1 sister.
Isabel was a member of Carthage Friends Church in Carthage, IN as well as Eastern Star of New Castle, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to Alzhiemer's Association or the Hoosier Gym at Knightstown, IN.
Services will be held Sunday, August 5th at 2 pm at Todd Funeral Home Knightstown Chapel in Knightstown, In, and officiated by Rev. Mervin Kilmer.
Friends may call from 12 - 2 pm on Sunday. There will be an Eastern Star service during the funeral.
Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Arlington, In.
