Father verified, by DNA Testing and proven to be a grandson of John Frederick Miller (1711-1787) of Halifax County, Virginia, who immigrated from Freudenberg, Germany to Virginia in 1738.

"Martin Miller, Son of Jacob and Martha Stovall (Roberts) Miller of Laurens County, SC. Born on 7 June 1779 in Halifax County, Virginia. He was in Laurens County by late 1803 when he purchased 80 acres of land from his uncle Peter Roberts. Married on 13 June 1805 to Martha 'Patsy' Fuller. They were the parents of twelve children. The names of eleven children are known (one son's name unknown). They were: Celia, Franklin, Albert, Haman, Hargrove, Ezekiel, Jacob, Henry, Jones, Louisa and Chancey Martin Miller. Martin Miller died in Laurens County, SC. One unconfirmed source states that he died on 5 March 1828. He is possibly buried at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church at Mountville {Find A Grave Memorial # 94665427}. Martha died there as Martha Bailey, widow of Zachariah Bailey, Jr. on 1 Oct.1850 and was also probably buried at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery."

The obituary of Martin Miller's wife states that she raised ten sons and two daughters (See Martha Fuller Miller's Memorial). The two daughters are accounted for in Celia Miller Teague and Louisa Miller Quattlebaum. Zilla B. and Sarah B. are believed to be the daughters of Haman Miller, Martin's brother, who died in 1824.]
