He was born at Danbury, Conn., Dec. 14, 1796; was married at Canaan, Pa., Oct. 12, 1820, to Abigil Frisbee, who was born at Branford, CT., Nov. 12, 1803. Their family consisted of four children, the first living only about five years. The second, Samantha Dikeman (Seeley), was born at Danbury Jan. 8, 1824. The third was Silas W. Dikeman, born at Jefferson Mar. 12, 1826. The fourth, Sally Ann Dikeman (Ferris)."
