Anna Dubro was born Anna Lorenz on January 12, 1893, in Hamburg, Germany, to Frank and Anna (Reimann) Lorenz. At the age of three months the family moved to North Dakota and lived there for four to five years. They then moved to the Esmond area.
On Oct. 16, 1912, Anna married Paul R. Dubro at Immanuel Lutheran church, rural Iroquois. They made their home in the Esmond area. Paul died in August 1938. She continued to live in the Esmond area until 1952 when she moved to Wichita, Kansas.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Charlene Dubro of Midwest, Okla., Marion and Margie Dubro of Iroquois, Norman and Mary Dubro of LasVegas, Nev., and Ronald and Darlene Dubro of Arlington, Tx.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and James Erickson of Wichita; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Hans Lorenz of Esmond; two sisters, Nettie Dubro and Frances Hammers, both of Huron.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, five brothers, Frank, Paul, Fred, William and Henry Lorenz, and two sisters, Mary Dubro and Martha Hoeye.
Anna died Friday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita, Ks., at the age of 98.
