Fred Lorenz, 80, of rural Iroquois, died Saturday at Huron Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Aaseth-Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Salomson officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Garden Cemetery.

Fred Lorenz was born March 13, 1899, in Kingsbury County to Frank and Anna Lorenz. He grew up and was educated in Kingsbury County. He was engaged in farming there as a young man. On Feb. 27, 1931, he married Marie Fors at Huron. Following their marriage they continued to farm until 1946 when he went to work for Builders supply. He continued to work there until his retirement in 1970.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Hans of Esmond and Henry of Huron; five sisters, Anna Dubro of Wichita, Kan., Nettie Dubro of rural Iroquois, Martha Hoeye of Rapid City and Frances Hammers of rural Huron; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Jabe Lorenz, Lyle Lorenz, Roger Lorenz, Leonard Lorenz, Lowell Dubro and Marion Dubro.
