On 29 March 1891, in Randolph County, NC, at the age of 16, Delana married John Alfred Webster, son of John H Webster and Celia Elizabeth Snider [daughter of Rev. John Snider and Celia Ann Wright.]. John and Delana had the following children:
1. Carl Jackson Webster [1892–1977]
2. Baxter Paul Webster [1895–1978]
3. Leona Webster [1896 1961]
4. Oswald Webster [1901–1922]
5. Mary Webster [1903 1960]
John Webster was born 1868 and died 1904. Information is from his headstone at Charlotte United Methodist Church Cemetery, Asheboro, Randolph County, NC. No month or day shown. Eighteen years later, son Oswald Webster would be buried near his father.
Delana was married on 5 November 1905, Delana Webster to Andrew Solomon Clayton Yates [second marriage for both - widowed], son of Andrew Lindsey Yates [1831-1865] and Anna Snider [1832-1910]. Delana and Solomon had two daughters:
1. Myrtle Irene Yates [1906–1907]
2. Clara Bell Yates [1909–1990]
Delana Redding Webster Yates passed away on 4 March 1911. Only a short obituary was found for her:
Obituary for Delana Redding Webster Yates: Mrs. S. C. Yates died late Saturday night at her home on Ward Street after a short illness, with pneumonia. Deceased was 38 years of age. The funeral was conducted this morning at the residence by Rev. John R. Miller.
Source: Genealogist at the North Carolina Room, High Point NC Public Library who wrote - "The attached obituary is for Delana (as Mrs. S. C. Yates). The Monday, 6 Mar 1911, obit says she died "Saturday night," so that would be 4 Mar 1911. "
Delana Ann Redding Webster Yates is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in High Point, NC. Unfortunately, her gravesite is not a marked site with headstone.
