Hiram Bitner of Glasford, familiarly known to everyone in this community as "Hike," passed away at Peoria, Tuesday, November 13, 1934, at 5 :50 p.m., after an illness of two weeks, caused by a paralytic stroke. He was 61 years old. 1
Mr. Bitner was a son of Daniel and Katherine Bitner, and was born near Glasford, in 1872. He was united in marriage to Mary Murphy, who preceded him in death 32 years ago.
He is survived by one son, Roy, of Portland, Ore., five brothers, John, of Denver, Colo., Dan, Boise, Idaho, Lem, Elmer and William, of Glasford, and one sister. Mrs. Sophia Rosbottom, of Florida.
His parents and one brother, Frank, and one sister, Nellie, preceded him in death.
The body was brought to the Wilkey mortuary in Glasford, and funeral services are being held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Kingston Mines M. E. Church, conducted by. Dr. A. M. Stocking, of Glasford. Interment will be in Kingston Mines Cemetery.
