Alois A. Bindl of Franklin is the first farmer in this locality to name his farm and record the name in the office of the register of deeds. A new law makes a name so recorded of the same effect as a trademark, and the name cannot be used by others. Mr. Bindl has named his farm, "Pleasant Valley Stock Farm." It is the place upon which he was born and has been owned by his father, Joseph Bindl, and his grandfather, Ignatz Bindl, who purchased it when he came from Germany, fifty years ago. (Weekly Home News, Spring Green, Wisconsin, June 10, 1915, page 1, column 2)

He married Clara Lins on April 13, 1910, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Plain, Sauk County, Wisconsin. They had 11 children.
