Memorial service for Bob Echols of Ada, OK will be 10:00 am Friday, July 9, 2010 at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home in Ada, OK. Officiating will be Mr. Dell Howry.

Mr. Echols died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Purcell Municiple Hospital in Purcell, OK at the age of 76. He was born August 17, 1933 in Gory, TX to Allen Wilson Echols and Ethel Hall Echols. He married Barbara Neves on May 19, 1972 in Aztec, NM.

Mr. Echols moved to Ada from Carlsbad, NM in 1996. He worked as a welder for many years in the oil and gas industry. He had served in the United States Marines and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved fishing and his dogs.

Mr. Echols is survived by his wife, Barbara Echols of the home; three sons, Zane Echols and his wife Amy of Farmington, NM, Wade Echols and his wife Nancy of Lakewood, WA, and Ray Jones of Carlsbad, NM; one daughter, Dina Smith and her husband John of Lubbock, TX; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ethel Echols and one sister, Nyda Womack.
