Parepa Ferrell (who liked to be called Ferrell) was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on November 24, 1918. Her parents were William Harrison and Mary Elizabeth Wood Acree. She had two older brothers. She lived with her family and was raised in Sapulpa. She completed her Junior year in high school.

She married Howard Quinton Groff, another Sapulpa resident, on July 3, 1936 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They continued to live in Sapulpa through 1940. They were the parents of two children, Barbara and David.

By 1945 the couple lived in Long Beach, California where her husband worked for the war effort (World War II). Another child, Donna, was born to them in the Fall of 1945.

The couple continued to live in Long Beach after the war, and occasionally visited both of their families in Sapulpa throughout the years.

On January 22, 1977 Howard died suddenly, and Ferrell was left a widow at age 58 years. She was remarried on February 2, 1980 in Los Angeles County, California. Her second husband was Edward R. Evans, a man 9 years her senior.

On November 9, 1989, at age 71 years, Ferrell died suddenly from a cardiac event at home in Carson, California. Surviving her were her husband, Edward (Long Beach); all her children (living in nearby California towns); seven grandchildren; and many friends. Her parents and brothers had predeceased her.

Ferrell was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Cypress) Cemetery: Enduring Love, Map 2, Lot 1624, Space 4, next to her first husband, Howard, with his surname of Groff.
