Death of Mrs. Emily Gray Miller.
The community was saddened Thursday by the death of Mrs. Emily Gray Miller, wife of the late John R. Miller. The cause of her death was Bright's disease. A few weeks ago she went to St. Johnsbury for treatment, and not being benefitted there returned to her home and from that time failed rapidly until the end.
Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late M. R. Gray of this town. She was born here April 24, 1856, and with the exception of a few years residence in the west and in Boston, her whole life was spent in Ryegate.
She married John R. Miller, December 13, 1882. He died about three years ago. She was a member of the Ryegate Presbyterian church and was always active in church and Sunday school work. Mrs. Miller is survived by two sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Ella M. Wiley of West Hebron, N. Y., Mrs. Isabel C. Buchanan, of Ryegate, John C., of Chicopee, Mass., W. Harry, of Burlington, Kansas, George M., of St. Johnsbury, and Frank F., of Everett, Mass. A brief service was held at the house Saturday and the funeral services were held from the church.
