Joseph Stuckey Rites Saturday

Last rites will be here Saturday for Joseph H. Stuckey, former well-known Fairfield businessman who passed away yesterday at Canton, Ill. He had been in failing health for the past several years.

The services will be at 1 p.m. at the Weston-Behner funeral home with Dr. J. Henry Teele in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Members of Clinton Lodge No. 15, A.F. and A.M. will conduct services at the grave.

Joseph H. Stuckey, 89, was born Aug. 29, 1870, at Washington, Ill., the son of Peter and Catherine Engel Stuckey. He was married to Adella J. Gibson on Jan. 11, 1902, at Centerville. She passed away on July 8, 1950.

Stuckey was in the grain and feed business in Fairfield for 30 years before his retirement, and was a long-time member of the Methodist church. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge.

He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Jack Mills, Canton, Ill.; Mrs. Eugene Flemming, Gowanda, N.Y.; and Mrs. Harold Varney, Bennington, Calif. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. A. B. Cantwell, Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. H. R. Lugbihl, Chicago; and a brother, T. T. Stuckey, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and a sister. Since his wife's death in 1950 he had made his home with his daughters.
