As a worker at The Mangum Star, Jerry will be impossible to replace. Her knowledge of almost everyone and everything in Mangum was invaluable. In addition, with nearly 20 years on this paper, she knew all of the ins and outs of the running of The Mangum Star better than anyone.
Ben Langdon, former publisher of The Mangum Star-News and under whom Mrs. Paden started her newspaper career had this to say: “Jerry had many friends in Mangum and Greer County which gave her news stories a warmer tone. She was writing about friends, many of whom she had known since birth. It was a fortunate day for us when Jerry joined our staff 19 years ago.”
