Her Grandfather, John Edward was born in Canada and moved to Minnesota where her father James was born. Ruth's maternal grandfather, Heinrich Henkels, immigrated from Belgium and her maternal grandmother, Hortence La Fontaine was born in France. She was married to Walter Albert Horejsi, and they later divorced 5 Jun 1970. They had three boys: David Mark Horejsi, Walter Albert Jr., Dennis John.
