- Samantha's mother, Ann Moore Johnson married a second time to a man "Brisendine", as evident from the 1880 Census Record showing a child (half sibling to Samantha) named "Lucy A. Brisentine/Brisendine". This 1880 Census shows that Samantha's mother, Ann Moore Johnson Brisendine married a third time to a man named "Peter Fifer (c1836-?)".
- Samantha's siblings were: Mason S. Johnson, Louis Walter Johnson, Columbus C. Johnson, Julia Etta Johnson, Lucy A. Brisendine.
Samantha Savana Johnson married at the age of 16 years old to James "Jim" Marion Adams on 12 July 1882 in Hamilton County, Texas.
Samantha and James had nine children, two of whom did not survive past birth. They raised seven children in Star, Mills County, Texas, until those children married and moved out on their own.
Samantha Savana Johnson Adams died in Kern County, California where she was living with her daughter Bessie (Adams) Gummelt. She is buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery, Hamilton County, Texas, which is right at the boarder of Hamilton County and Mills County, Texas. The cemetery is close to the house in Star, where Samantha and James raised their children, and she had lived for 52 years before the death of her husband. She died at the age of 81.
