LA CROSSE — Mrs. Matilda
Humberg, 78, resident of Rush
County for a half-century, died at
4 p. m. Thursday in Hadley Memorial
Hospital at Hays.
Mrs. Humberg was born Jan. 5,
1877 at Bible Grove, 111. She and
her husband, the late Fred Humberg,
came to Bison after their
marriage in 1904 and operated a
lumber and grain business which
was predecessor of Humburg's,
Inc. now operate'd by their sons.
Mr. Humburg died in 1928 at
Bison. Mrs. Humburg had been a
resident of La Crosse since 1938.
Survivors include three sons,
Glenn and Merrill, both La Crosse,
and Harold, Ness City; two daughers,
Mrs. Kenneth Wilson and
Mrs. Raymond Brening, both La
Crosse.
Funeral services will be at 2
p. m. Saturday in La Crosse
Methodist Church, Rev. Claude
Johnson officiating. Burial will be
in the La Crosse Cemetery.
