Daughter of Granville Penn. Wife of Abram Penn Staples.

Inscription

Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Mary S. Staples wife of Col. Abram Staples who departed this life on the 23rd day of July 1855 after a severe illness of four weeks. Aged fifty one years and five days.

In life she was eminent for her piety and the practice of every Christian virtue. In death she was signalized by a perfect resignation to the Divine will and a bright anticipation of an abundant entrance into her Father’s Kingdom.
