The funeral will be held May 4 for Gladys M. Klohn of Salem, who died April 27 of congestive heart failure. The former Oakridge and Creswell resident was 85.

Klohn was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Oakwood, Okla., to Lloyd and Effie Cline Bain. She married Homer Klohn in Eagle City, Okla., on Nov. 12, 1933. He died in 1987.

Klohn moved to Oakridge in 1938, to Creswell in 1949 and to Salem in 1987. Her interests included camping, fishing, gardening, crafts and beachcombing. She belonged to the Free Methodist Church in Salem and had belonged to Creswell Nazarene Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhoda Davies and Phyllis Klohn, both of Salem; a son, Melvin of Spokane; two brothers, Gilbert Bain and Basil Bain, both of Creswell; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A grandson, Kevin Klohn, died in 1993.

Thursday's service will be at 2 p.m. at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom in Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund at Salem Free Methodist Church or to Teen Challenge of Oregon.
