John is the son of James and Elizabeth Anthony Greene. He married Mary Increase Allen, daughter of Increase and Rachel Allen. John and Mary Increase Allen Greene had ten children. They were David Greene (1710-1775); James Greene (1712-1792); Rachel Greene (1714-1741); Increase Greene ((1717-1810); Elizabeth Greene (1719- ); Benjamin Greene (1721- ); Dinah Greene (1723- ); Mary Greene (1724- 1727 ); Joseph Greene (1728- 1824); and Peter Greene (1730- ).
