Note: While there are no burial records for Joseph and his two wives, they are very likely buried in this cemetery, which is the only known Reynolds cemetery located on Joseph's original 727-acre purchase. His son John, is assumed to be buried here, and John's son, Joseph, is known to be buried here, though there are no surviving inscribed markers.

The name of this person has not been found in any records, but this was the first wife of Joseph Reynolds, who made a large land purchase in what is now Exeter, Rhode Island. A member of the find-a-grave community has suggested that she was Mary Greene, daughter of James Greene and Elizabeth Anthony. Her birth date must be close to that of her husband, because their oldest child was born by about 1674 in order for his first child to be born in 1697. She and her husband must have therefore been married about 1673, making her husband a bit young at 21, but this age is not improbable. This wife had many children with Joseph, the last of whom was born in the early 1690s, so her death date is chosen at about 1695, and her husband's remarriage at about 1702. Her children, surname Reynolds, were born in North Kingstown, RI:

* Joseph, b. c. 1674, d. April 1722, m. c. 1696 (first child b. 21 April 1697) Susannah Babcock, daughter of John Babcock and Mary Lawton of Westerly, RI

* Deborah, b. NK 1676, m. c. 1695 Job Babcock, brother of Susannah, above.

* Robert, b. c. 1678, d. NK 1716 (wp 12 Mar 1715/6), m. c. 1700 Deliverance Smith, b. c. 1684, dau of Jeremiah Smith and Mary Gereardy of Prudence Island (Portsmouth). Following Robert's death, Deliverance m. Joseph Tefft. They had four known children

* James, b. say 1680, m. 7 Oct 1705 Sarah _______. He is named in his father's 1730 will.

* Benjamin, b. say 1682, was likely still living in 1730 when his father wrote his will, but his name in that instrument was destroyed by fire, if he was mentioned.

* Susanna, b. say 1685, was living in 1730 when named in her father's will. She m. _______ Clark.
