Walter S. Lang, 79, of Topeka died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Land owned an insurance agency in Emporia until his retirement in the 1970s. He worked at several banks in Kansas before going to work at the Denison State Bank in Holton, where he worked in the 1950s and 1960s.
He was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Redwing, the son of Frank and Adelheit Rief Lang. He spent his early years in the Barton County area. Mr. Lang attended Great Bend Commercial College in 1926.
Mr. Lang was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Clayton A. Lang, Topeka; a daughter, Sharon R. Loh, Trumball, Conn.; two sisters, Marie Miller, Hoisington, and Ella Ficker, Mt. Angle, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
