HATCLIFF, LESTER G.—Lester G. Hatcliff, son of Mark and Jennie (Christian) Hatcliff, was born February 19, 1906, near Shickley, Neb., and passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 18 days.

He attended Sunday school and church in the Free Will Baptist church near the home where he was born. He attended public school in District No. 60 in Fillmore county.

Lester had lived on the same home place all his life. In his nearly 72 years of life, January 7, 1978, was the only time in which he ever was hospitalized.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers, Oscar and Arthur of Shickley, and three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Spahn of Hastings, Mrs. Ed. (Florence) Isley of Geneva, and Mrs. Jesse (Alice Ackerman of Milford; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents and one sister, Elsie, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son funeral home in Geneva at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 1978, with Rev. Charles Schofield officiating.
Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Mrs. Charles Schofield and Mrs. Melvin Spahn, who sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Does Jesus Care.”

Pallbearers were Lyle and Melvin Spahn, Lavern and jerry Ulmer and Melvin Ralston and Leonard Kreachbaum.

Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery.
