MRS. MARY MILLION DIES AT AGE 97
Mrs. Mary Million was born July 5, 1851, in Hadeland, Norway, to the parents Andre and Mary Linstad (Lystad). She came to the United States with her parents in 1854. Her parents purchased a farm in Green county. In 1867 she was confirmed by Rev. J. N. Fjeld in the Old York Lutheran church.

She was united in marriage to Hans Swiggum in 1868. They farmed in Green County, having built the house which is now the home of Mrs. Lewis Wahl. Seven children were born to this union: Sam, Elmer, Martin, Clara and Mary, two others, a son and daughter passed away in early youth. Hans Swiggum died in September 1886. His wife continued to operate the farm for the next six years.

In 1893 she was married to Warner A. Million. During the following year they moved to the village of Blanchardville and erected the home in which Mrs. Million lived the rest of her life. Two children were born to this union: William and Loraine. Mr. Warner Million passed away in 1918.

Mrs. Million passed away at her home Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock at the age of 97 years. She is survived by two sons, William at home, and Loraine of Duluth, Minn., two daughters, Mrs. Theodore Folkedahl of Mt. Horeb and Mary Swiggum at home; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Million had been an active member of the W.C.T.U. and the American Legion Auxiliary until her health failed. She had served as president of the Blanchardville Lutheran Ladies' Aid for 16 years. She let several orphans share her home until they approached womanhood or manhood. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m. at Blanchardville Lutheran church. Friends may call at Saether's Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Thursday when she will be taken to the church to lie in state until services. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery. Rev. T. Kleven will officiate at the services. Bearers will be relatives.
