Mrs. Carol Heinen passed away in Corvallis on May 22, 2010 at the age of 76. She will be laid to rest in a graveside funeral service on May 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Nestucca Valley Community Cemetery in Hebo.
Carol was born Nov. 1, 1933 in Hebo to Clyde and Bernice (Fletcher) Lane. She was a 1951 graduate of Nestucca High School, and furthered her education at business school in Portland. On Dec. 22, 1956, Carol married Dean Heinen in Cloverdale. She worked at Hayes Oyster as a secretary before moving with Dean to Warroad, Minn. in 1964, where she managed the offices of Marvin Windows for more than 30 years before retiring and moving back to Oregon in 1995.
Carol enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, crafting and needlework. She will be remembered as frugal and well organized, and very encouraging of her family's accomplishments. Indeed, her time with family was especially precious to her, and particularly during their time in Minnesota she and Dean were overjoyed at the achievements of her nieces and nephews.
Dean passed away in 2007. She had recently been very fond of day trips with her sister Wanona, and of walks with her dog Minnie.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Lane, and by her brother Tom Lane, who passed away in April of this year.
Carol will be remembered by a brother, Ricky Lane and wife Donna of Hebo, a sister, Wanona Wharton of Cloverdale; six nieces and nephews, Pamela Peterson, Jay Lane, Randy Wharton, Melody Lane Brown, Heidi Lien and Jill Hulst; and by her loving animal companion Minnie.
Those who wish may make contributions in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association, in care of Waud's Funeral Home.
