Mrs. Ada Sands Folts, 67, of Newburgh, for many years a well-known Herkimer resident, died yesterday afternoon in a Newburgh hospital as the result of an automobile accident Tuesday near Arden, Orange county. Her skull was fractured.
Miss Harriet Folts, her daughter, at one time a teacher in Herkimer HIgh school, suffered a fracture of the pelvis and is in critical condition in the same hospital.
Mrs. Folts, came to this village shortly after her marriage to Charles L. Folts in Newburgh on Oct. 4, 1899. She was born Feb. 25, 1870 at Marlboro, N. Y., near Newburgh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Sands.
Mrs. Folts leaves her husband, daughter and a son, Lawton of Wilmington, Del. She also leaves her brother, Frank Sands, Marlboro and several nieces and nephews.
