Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today for A. B. Savoie, 87, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Mr. Savoie died at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in his residence in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park.
The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.
Mr. Savoie was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 237 of Sunset, the captain usher of the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Our Lady Queen of Angels and a house painter for 55 years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ann Manshack and her husband, Ronnie, of Opelousas; one daughter-in-law, Joanne Savoie of Opelousas; three granddaughters, Bonnie Montgomery of Opelousas, Regina Timmons and her husband, Larry, of Converse, and Connie Pilkington and her husband, Terry, of Pleasant Hill and one grandson, Bobby Wates and his wife, Rosemary, of Pleasant Hill.
Mr. Savoie was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Peck Savoie; one son, Wayne Savoie; one great-granddaughter, Kelsi Wates; his parents, Leo and Josephine Chaisson Savoie; four sisters, Leota Devillier, Doris Hutchinson, Alzina Boudreaux and Effie Mae Lavergne and three brothers, Emick, V. L. and Wilson Savoie.
Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, 2845 S. Union St., Opelousas, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
