Edna worked at Browns Restaurant, Rennebohms, and Bancroft Dairy. She and Victor founded and operated Oil Equipment Service. Edna was a thirty year active member of the Four Lakes Yacht Club and enjoyed boating. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their RV during their retirement. Edna was a loving wife; mother and grandmother. She was an avid card player and the "Queen" of Scrabble.
She is survived by her three children, Gary (Debra) Holland of Bloomington, lnd.; Kathy (George) Luther from Hudson, and Mary (Steve) Nelson of McFarland; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; half sister, Joan Chaplin of Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Esther Newman of Baraboo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; parents; five sisters, Viola Guetzke, Mabel Belter, Laura Dittman, Dahlia Jesse, and Elsie Jesse; and two brothers, John Newman Jr and Harold Newman.
Funeral services will be held at Oakwood Village East, the Tree of Life Chapel, Tancho Dr, Madison at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010. Visitation will be held at Oakwood Village East from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Bethel Lutheran Church Media Ministry or HospiceCare Inc.
