Evan married Katherine Salome Ebert (1818-1898) on 02 Jan 1840 at Davidson County, North Carolina. In c1858 the family moved to Flat Rock Township, Bartholomew County, Indiana where many Davidson and Forsyth County people moved in the early to mid 1800s.
Evan and Katherine were the parents of nine known children, namely:
1. Martin F. Rothrock (1841-1919)
2. Elizabeth (Eliza) R. Rothrock (1843-1886)
3. Serena Ann Rothrock (1846-p1860)
4. John W. Rothrock (1848-1887)

8. Melissa E. Rothrock Fergeson Nye (1863-1947)
9. Della Jane Rothrock Hendrickson (1865-1935)
At the time of the 1880 census taken in the summer of 1880 Katherine was a widow. Thus the death date listed for Evan (1880) may mean he died in or before 1880. No grave markers seem to exist for Evan and Katherine and it is assumed that they vanished over time.
While living in Davidson County Evan was a Deacon of the Beulah Reformed Church.
