Joshua Walton Baker married Sarah White Lawrence 29 SEP 1840 in Lewis County, Missouri, she died September 15, 1862. Their children were Matilda, Esther E. and a daughter who died in 1862 under two years of age [The information about the unnamed child may not be accurate].

After the deaths of their first wife and husband, Joshua Walton Baker and Martha A. Conley Baker were married. After Martha died in 1872, Joshua complied with the request in her will and moved the remains of her first husband, James William Baker, and their deceased children from the Baker farm to the Linville Cemetery in Edina. Joshua also moved the remains of his parents, Martin Baker and Esther Walton Baker, to the Linville Cemetery.

On 11 FEB 1890 in Edina, Knox County, Missouri Joshua married a third time to Medda Porter.

Joshua had a fourth wife, Day Gordon, married UNK.

Joshua Baker a pioneer citizen of Knox County, died Saturday morning at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter Mrs. Fox in Edina, aged 86 years. His funeral took place Monday morning.

Death of Joshua Baker.
Joshua Baker whose serious illness was mentioned last week died at 2:15 a. m. Friday night. Mr. Baker was 86 years of age and for some time before his death he had been quite feeble. He was one of the old and well to do citizens of the county and one of the early settlers in this section. For a number of years he has resided in Edina and for some time has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. M. J. Fox. Besides Mrs. Fox he leaves another daughter, Mrs. J. J. Atterberry of La Plata. These are the only surviving children.
The funeral services were held Monday at 10 o'clock at the Christian church by Eld. H. A. Northcutt, of Kirksville, and the burial was in the Linville cemetery.
