Alma Joy Delaney, 82, of Parkersburg, a resident of the Willows for the past five months after a serious auto accident on June 30, entered the portals of Heaven on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, with her loving family surrounding her at bedside.

She was born in Sandyville, Jackson County, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Nellie McCrady Stewart. In her earlier years, she worked at the Chancellor Hotel as cashier and supervisor for 19 years. She retired from Service America and Macke Vending at DuPont after 20 years of service. Upon her retirement, she worked for five years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Christian Life Center for 60 years. She loved to sing and used to sing "I'm a Child of the King" on the local radio station with the late Mary Cole.

She is survived by Jimmie E. Delaney, her loving husband of 67 years; a daughter, Carol Cottrell (Walt); sons, David Delaney (Angela), Ricky Delaney (Mandy), Randy Delaney (Lisa) and Jimmy Delaney (Missy); grandchildren, Rebecca Lamoureux, Robert Wiley, Loretta Delaney, Laura Delaney, Jeff Cottrell, Scott Cottrell, David Delaney Jr., Alisha Delaney, Sean Delaney, Dawn Weekley, Randy M. Delaney, Ashley Delaney, Brad Delaney, Coty Delaney, Preston Delaney, and a very, very special granddaughter, Angie Reynolds; 20 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Larry Stewart; sisters, Sandy Roush and Kathryn Rose; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful fur baby, Twinkles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Delaney; and five brothers.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor Delton Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
