Pastor Larry Eugene Stewart
January 1, 1941 - April 1, 2012

Pastor Larry Eugene Stewart, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away on April 1, 2012 at his residence.

He was born January 1, 1941, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Lawrence and Nellie McCrady Stewart.

Larry was a graduate of PHS with the class of 1959. He had worked at Walker Parkersburg and retired from Johns Mansville. He enjoyed fishing, boating, was a WVU fan, loved his cat Ebony and was a minister at Jefferson Baptist Temple Church.

He is survived by four daughters, Susan Lynn Stewart of Charlotte, N.C., Melissa Caplinger and Debra Tefft, both of Parkersburg, and Wendy Tibbs of Rowlett, Tex.; one son, Stephen Riffe of Marietta, Ohio, two sisters, Katherine Rose of Sandusky, Ohio and Sandra Roush of Williamstown; his former wife, Rose Stewart of Charleston; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Charles, James, Harold, Paul and Lawrence Stewart Jr.; and one sister, Joy Delaney.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Jefferson Baptist Temple Church with Pastor Mike Howerton and Jeff Cottrell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. south Parkersburg.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Amedysis Hospice and special friends, Ed and Cindy for their wonderful care of the past several weeks and the dialysis staff at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus for their care.
