Timothy Foster Jr was second born son of,Timothy Foster Sr (1714-1795)and Mary "Molly" May (1719-1753)born in Walpole,Massachusetts on June 20,1741.In 1748,Timothy Foster's father moved with his family from Dedham,Massachusetts to the southast part of Oxford,Worcester County,Massachusetts and bought a farm in what is now Dudley,Massachusetts.

At the age of sixteen,Timothy Foster Jr served in the French and Indian War(1748-1763).He served in,Capt John Curtis' company under the Regiment commanded by , Col John Chandler.

Afterwards he served in the American Revolution.His service was as follows: He was an Ensign on the muster roll of, Capt Nathaniel Healey's Company under, Col Learnard's Regiment dated Aug 1,1775;enlisted April 24,1775;service,3 mos 2 weeks. Timothy also was on a list of officers of the Massachusetts militia as 2nd Lieutenant in 3rd Company of the 5th Worcester Co Regiment ;commissioned April 4,1776.He was also Lieutenant on the muster and pay roll of, Capt Healey's Company under, Col Jonathan Holman's regiment dated Providence ,R I Jan 21 1777;service 21 days on the alarm of December 1776.Timothy also was on the pay abstract dated at Fort Edward Oct 17,1777;engaged Sept 26;discharged Oct 6,1777;served 30 days.He was also on a list of officers of the Massachusetts Militia as 2nd Lieutenant with, Capt David Keith's Company under Col Holman's Regiment,commissioned Sept 25,1778.He later was commissioned ,Feb 19,1780, 1st Lieutenant in, Capt Lemuel Corbin's Company under,Col Jacob Davis' Worcester County,Massachusetts' 5th Regiment.His last period of service was marked by an injury to his arm.

Timothy also held the following town of Dudley positions,Constable in 1760,Tythingman in 1761,Surveyor(fence vewer)in 1762 and was on the committee of Safety.Timothy was a "Weaver" by trade.

Timothy Foster Jr had a total of seventeen siblings from his fathers three wives.Timothy's mother,Mary "Molly" May was his fathers first wife.Mary was the daughter of,Eleazer May(1687-1776)and Mary(unknown)(1690-1727).Mary and Timothy had eight children.Timothy Foster Jr's seven full siblings were as follows..

In most of the early Dudley and Revolutionary records,Timothy Foster and his father are referred to as Jr and Sr,however it is worth mentioning that,Timothy Foster(1715-1795) Sr's father was also ,Timothy Foster(1681-1725)and that his father was also, Timothy Foster (1640-1688)of Scituate and then Dorchester,Massachusetts.This elder,Timothy Foster's father was,Edward Foster (1590-1643) who had come to America on the ship "Anne" and settled on Kent Street in Scituate near Satuit Brook in 1633.

In his later years,Timothy Foster Jr and his wife,Rachel Robinson went to live with their daughter,Rachel and her husband,Abiel Elwell who also lived in Dudley.On Jan 26,1822 Timothy Foster died in the home of his son in law,Abiel Elwell.Fourteen years later,Abiel Elwell would assist his mother in law,Rachel Robinson Foster in obtaining a widows pension for her husbands,Timothy's Revolutionary Service.She was awarded a pension on
Nov 30,1836 at the age of 92.Rachel died three years later on Feb 20,1839.
